Congratulations. You've just finished successfully the index creation process. SiteSearch is ready for working on your site now. We didn't wanted to make any changes to your site, that's why you need to integrate SiteSearch to your own site yourself. You have two options, how SiteSearch should be integrated in your WebSite or HTML documentation. See both options below. |
|
This is Option 1. It requires your visitors or readers to press the button
before the SiteSearch applet appears. The applet is placed in it's own window.
Using the parameter "autostart", starts the applet automatically.
The parameter "target" is set to "frame". Check out this option by clicking the button.

If you would like to have SiteSearch embedded on the HTML page and not in it's own window, take a look to Option 2

Important note:
Any visitor of your Website or reader of your HTML documentation (offline or online) needs a Java enabled browser,
like Netscape Navigator (version 2,3,4) or
Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 3,4) to use SiteSearch. If you are viewing SiteSearch offline with Internet Explorer 3.x, simply set the value of the "useDecompressedImages" Parameter to "1".
The integration of SiteSearch into your own pages is very easy, but needs some sentences to describe: The SiteSearch applet is packed in an ZIP archive. We are supporting all Java enabled browser, but we can offer better performance to new browsers like Netscape Navigator 4. This browser can jump into compressed archives, which results that the SiteSearch applet starts much faster. Actually we are using a simply Javascript routine to determine, which browser the visitor is using. If you like this solution simply view the source of this file and copy anything between the "START COPYING HERE" and "END COPYING HERE" line into your own pages. If you would like to use the "traditional" applet tag, simply copy the following lines of code in your own HTML . (your web site's start page, i.e. your INDEX.HTM, DEFAULT.HTML, etc.):
<APPLET code="com.sfs.sitesearch.SiteSearch" codebase="sitesrch" archive="sitesrch.zip" width="120" height="49"> Please note: The HTML page(s) where you integrate SiteSearch must be in the same folder like this file sitesrch.htm . You will find the SiteSearch online help in the "docs" directory of your sitesearch installation. Simply open the file index.html in your favourite webbrowser.
The evaluation version of SiteSearch is limited to a maximum index of 30 html pages.
You may evaluate this software for free, for a period of 14 days. If you do not manage your own web server, here are some upload instructions: Simply upload the complete "sitesrch" directory - including all subdirectories (important for Netscape 2.0 support) - to your remote server. It is also important that your ftp-client does not change the file names, as Java is case-sensitive: So a change (i.e.) from "SiteSearch.class" to "Sitesearch.class" will cause conflicts.
After you have found SiteSearch properly working offline and online, we would like to ask you to fill out
the form below. We are very interested about your feedback to SiteSearch, and we are prepared to show other web
surfers how SiteSearch is working within your web site. SFS Software Team - Good old Schmalkalden, Germany. |
